Famous Historical Events:

1766 - 1st fire escape patented, wicker basket on a pulley & chain.
1801 - Soldiers riot in Bucharest, kill 128 Jews.

1913 - Opening of China's 1st parliament takes place in Peking (now Beijing).

1914 – United States and Colombia signed a treaty concerning Panama Canal Zone.

1916 - Norway approves active & passive female suffrage (right to vote & opportunities to vote).

1929 - Indian Independence Movement:  At the Delhi Central Assembly, Indian revolutionary fighters Bhagat Singh along with Batukeshwar Dutt throw handouts and bombs in Central Legislative Assembly. Both were arrested and imprisoned for life. This incident arouses a famous slogan "Inquilab Zindabad" [Long lives the Revolution].

1960 - Netherland & Germany sign accord concerning war casualties

1985 - India files suit against Union Carbide over Bhopal disaster. Both Civil & Criminal cases been registered. This disaster been noted as ‘worst industrial catastrophe’. By 2001, this UCC been purchased by Dow Chemicals, which legal case still pending.

1990 - King Birendra of Nepal lifts 30-year ban on political parties. This lets to arise of communist party & others. 5 women candidatures in parliament are made compulsory.

1994 - Smoking banned in Pentagon & all US military bases. California becomes 1st state to ban smoking in all offices. Then, the cause had been continued all over.

1997 - Microsoft Corp releases Internet Explorer 4.0. It debuted with Microsoft® DirectAnimation API - the animation component of the DirectX® Media 5.1 Software Development Kit (SDK), designed for Intel Architecture. It enables users to view dynamic 2D & 3D content online.

2004 - Darfur conflict: The Humanitarian Ceasefire Agreement is signed by the Sudanese government and two rebel groups, the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLMA).  The conflict affects nearly 5Mn people in Sudan. UN says that these civil war taken more than 400000 lives & millions handicapped.

2008 - The Bahrain World Trade Center (also called Bahrain WTC or BWTC) is a 240 m (787 ft) high twin tower complex located in Manama, Bahrain is constructed. It is the 1st skyscraper in the world to integrate wind turbines into its design.

-          Hard-hitting middle-order batsman and a right-arm bowler who, at his peak, was genuinely fast.
-          In addition, he developed a pioneering slower ball and was the 1st bowler to use it regularly in one-day cricket.
-          By 1978, he played for West Indies Young Cricketers team against England. Then after 8 months, he played for Tasmania (Australia) & after finally Gloucestershire (England).
-          1990: Because of apartheid (racism) charges, this Windies team had been barred from International arena. Thus leads to 2 years break in Steve’s cricket career as player.
-          Even though, he possesses great cricket profile, because of political reasons, he didn’t have any chance to play real International cricket.
-          1989: Wisden Cricketer of the Year was granted for his splendid profile.
